The Lorry Spotters Tourist Guide to Scotland
Route 9 - The Edinburgh/Glasgow/Edinburgh Clockwise loop
From Edinburgh follow A8/M8/A8 for Glasgow selecting depots as required from Routes 5 & 6 en route, then join the M73 Stirling to the A80.
Cumbernauld - Elddis
On the A80 after passing through the new A73 interchange at Auchenkilns and after about 2 miles, turn left onto the A8011 Cumbernauld/Dullatur road. Cross over roundabout and pass behind petrol station to next roundabout, Wardpark. At this point up Napier road, to the left, is Bayliss Distribution. This is the new Scottish base for Elddis but is a no go area.
Cumbernauld - Pollock (Scotrans)/Inta-Site
Turn right to pass under A80 and immediately on left, in McLenaghans yard is the base for Inta-site and PSL.
Cumbernauld - A.R.R. Craib
Continue straight on to Whitelees roundabout turn left and at next roundabout, Blackthorn, bear left pass under bridge to double mini roundabout. Turn left for Blairlinn and at next roundabout turn right into IE. Turn left into Broomlea Road and depot straight ahead.
Kilsyth - Matt McLanachan
Return to mini roundabouts and follow A80 Stirling. Shortly after passing Castlecary arches turn left onto A803.At end of slip road turn right for Kilsyth for about 5 miles. At town centre roundabout turn left then right into IE. Depot on right.
Larbert - I. Craig
Return to A80/M80 Northbound. Follow M80 then M876 to Jct 1. At end of slip road turn left and pass under motorway. At roundabout go straight through. Craig depot on right.
Grangemouth - W.H. Malcolm
Exit Jct 6 and at bottom of slip turn right to next roundabout and back under M9 follow Falkirk. After hundred yards or so turn left into Laurieston Road. Over hump bridge and depot on left. Malcolm Rail Terminal just before bridge.
Grangemouth - Falkirk Car Carriers
Return back under M9 follow A904 Earls Road IE/Docks. At roundabout take first exit for MAN dealer and depot alongside it.
Grangemouth - Montague L. Meyer
Two white spots of Alex Anderson based here. Take second exit off roundabout and turn right into Grange Lane. Depot on left but spots usually parked round side at end of building.
Grangemouth - John Mitchell
Return to roundabout and take third exit and follow road round. Depot at end on left.

Return to roundabout and follow A904 through town centre to first roundabout and take third exit. Depot in Calor Gas complex. Strictly no admittance.
Bo'ness - Derek Heeps
Continue on A904 follow to Bo'ness town centre and follow to rail terminal then turn right into Dock Street then left again still on A904. On turning left Derek Heeps immediately on right in McLucas yard.
Bo'ness - Alex Anderson
For Anderson continue on for about half mile then turn left into Haney Way. Depot both sides of road.
Linlithgow - R.W. Stewart
From Anderson return A904 Grangemouth but at storage tanks continue straight over to rejoin M9 at Jct 5 and follow Edinburgh. Exit Jct 4 and follow Linlithgow. After about a mile look for CEMEX sign on right and turn left at two fluorescent bollards opposite sign. Pass under bridge and depot on right.
At this point consider detour for Stirling (Currie & Pollock) and Throsk (Eadie Bros) - see details at end.
To continue onto Grangemouth without visiting Stirling and Throsk - From Craig turn left and take 2nd exit at roundabout. Pass under motorway then turn right and follow M876/M9 for Grangemouth.
Detour for Stirling and Throsk
Stirling - Currie/Pollock (Scotrans)
From Craig turn left and take first exit at roundabout to rejoin M876 SOUTHBOUND. Continue onto M80 southbound until Jct 4. Exit motorway and use junction system to return to M80 NORTHBOUND. Follow M80 then M9 for Perth. Exit Jct 10, follow A84 Stirling to junction with A9. Turn right and go through city underpass to next roundabout. Turn left onto A905 (Kerse Road) over railway (Pickford depot on left). Carry straight on and then right into Thistle IE. Currie parked in lorry park at entrance to SupaGlass Insulation. PSL parked in factory. Security have let me drive round complex after an explanation from me and a puzzled look from him!
Throsk - Eadie Bros
From SupaGlass retrace through underpass and onto A91, to its junction with A905 and follow Kincardine Bridge. Pass through Fallin and Throsk and depot on right in Meadowside Farm just past Bandeath IE. (N.B. - Bandeath IE is home to HR Gray and MTS Recovery, two prospective 'LS.com' companies.)
To continue onto Grangemouth depots stay with A905 to Grangemouth and at large roundabout, pass under the M9 for A904 Falkirk and follow for W.H. Malcolm as on original route.
