Route 5 - The Edinburgh Area
Dalkeith - Neil Williams
From Airport/TF follow A8 Edinburgh to A720 City bypass (South) for about 10 miles to A68 Dalkeith (Sherriffhall roundabout) and follow through Dalkeith. On outskirts of Dalkeith turn right on B6468 for Mayfield IE. Through roundabout to T-junction, turn right then left for IE. Depot on right. HQ and another site further up on left.
N.B. - it is probably best to do this as an individual run as the distance between Williams and Baird is about 20 miles.East Calder - Basil Baird
From M8 Jct 3 at Livingston East roundabout, follow A899/A71 through first roundabout and at second turn left onto A71 Edinburgh. After about 2 miles pass through traffic lights and take next exit B7031 East Calder and Camps. At T-junction turn right, then immediately left, at scrapyard, into Clifton Road. After bungalows take next lane on left and depot at top on left.
Kirknewton - J.B. McBean
From Bairds return to scrapyard by the B7015 and turn left. After a few hundred yards turn right into Camps IE. Depot in first entrance on left.
Livingston - ESL
From Baird/McBean return to M8 Jct 3, follow Glasgow to exit at Jct 3A. Cross back over M8 and follow Deans IE, paralleling motorway, then cross back again at Royston roundabout and turn right. ESL based in Tesco RDC on right. Limited viewing and no entry.
Bathgate - Pollock (Scotrans)
From ESL return to Jct 3A through Boghall roundabout and follow A89 Bathgate. At next roundabout, Guiliehall, turn left onto B792 Blackburn. Pass Tesco and go through three roundabouts. Depot on left immediately after the third roundabout.
Bathgate - D. & J. Sibbald
Return to and continue on A89 to town centre roundabout and cross straight over on A89. At traffic lights turn left onto B708. Depot at top of hill on right.
N.B. - If going on to do M8 Corridor (Route 6) return to town centre roundabout, turn right and follow to M8 Jct 4 heading Glasgow then follow Route 6 Davidson Bros from Jct 5. Just before Jct 5 try Harthill Services, which can often be quite rewarding.
